The International Energy Agency (IEA) has recently released a new report according to which the renewable energy will surpass coal, becoming the main generator of the world's electricity by 2035. It sees great potential for wind farms, solar farms and hydroelectric dams that become increasingly competitive with traditional energy sources, a level close by that of coal, said the Paris-based IEA agency that advises 28 nations on energy policy in its annual outlook.

UK‘s electricity grid is facing the biggest challenge since 70 years and will need an investment of up to 1.6 billion pounds ($2.56 billion) to switch to renewable energy capacity, according to a report commissioned by the Energy Networks Association (ENA) on behalf of the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and the industry regulator Ofgem. The report comes amid growing concern over Britain’s future ability to meet electricity demand.
