Brent crude prices boosted to a 4-month peak over $110 a barrel on Wednesday on concerns about supply disruptions in Libya and intensifying violence in Egypt. Brent for front-month September delivery, which expires on Thursday, traded 38 cents up to settle at $110.20 a barrel after hitting a new 4-month high of $110.30. The more actively traded October contract rose 34 cents to settle at $108.82. Meanwhile, September U.S. oil futures inched up 2 cents to settle at $106.85 after a day of choppy trading, reversing earlier losses of more than $1.

Crude oil prices ended with moderate gains on Tuesday, backed by a stock market advance and concerns over Egypt. However, the gains were capped by a strong U.S. dollar and supplies brought back online. Brent crude oil futures closed the day 38 cents higher at $107.81 per barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. crude oil futures rose 39 cents at $103.53, after trading as low as $102.31.

Brent crude oil dropped on Monday following news that Libya’s major Sharara oilfield and an Iraqi pipeline will resume operations, easing concerns about global oil supplies after an early hike to a three-month high above $108 a barrel on continuing unrest in Egypt.

Brent crude dropped from a two-week high on Thursday, being threaten by supply disruption from the Middle East eased after Egypt's armed forces called for the resignation of the country's president Mohamed Mursi , triggering a political crisis there. Brent crude eased 38 cents to $105.38 a barrel by 03:51 GMT, after settling at its highest level since June 19 on Wednesday. Meanwhile, U.S. crude boosted 4 cents to $101.28, but away from a 14-month peak of $102.18 achieved in the prior session.
