Greece to cut FiTs retroactively

The Greek government has announced recently that it intends to cut drastically the feed-in-tariffs for photovoltaic systems (ground-mounted and roof installations) aiming to reduce a deficit in the fund it uses for renewable energy.

2012 record year for new PV installations in Germany

The Federal Network Agency has recently published Germany’s photovoltaic installation data and the latest feed-in-tariff reduction figures for December and the whole last year. At the same time as December saw just 330 MW of new plants added, 2012 registered a new installation record, while FITs will decrease by 2.2% over the next three months.

Japan gives green light for feed-in-tariff scheme

Japan’s Ministry of Industry approved the introduction of feed-in-tariffs for renewable energy on 18 June, as the country shifts towards green energy in the wake of last year’s Fukushima nuclear disaster.
