Daily: Spot power prices increased on lower wind in Germany, nuclear supply in France

Oil prices decreased more than 1 percent yesterday on renewed worries over an oil oversupply, a stronger dollar and hopes that Nigerian insurgents will stop hampering country's crude production. Brent crude decreased 66 cents arriving at $49.26 a barrel, down 1.3 percent. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude diminished 66 cents, or 1.4 percent, at $46.98.

Work begins on 385 MW Baltic Sea wind farm

Germany-based utility company E.ON and Norwegian oil and gas firm Statoil have started on Thursday the construction of the 385 MW Arkona offshore wind project, a new wind farm situated 35 kilometers northeast of the island of Rugen in the German Baltic Sea.

Urenco inks Ukrainian agreement

Urenco, manufacturer of enriched uranium for the nuclear power utilities worldwide, should supply uranium enrichment to Ukraine under an agreement inked last week by the country's national nuclear firm Energoatom and the enrichment company possessed by Germany, the Netherlands and the UK.

Germany: Merkur offshore wind project secures EUR 1.6bn from investors and banks
