Northvolt expands gigafactory plans to 60GWh
Northvolt plans to increase capacity at its gigafactory in Ett, Sweden, to 60GWh, up from an original plan of 40GWh, citing rising demand for its batteries. This would push up Northvolt's total planned European battery production capacity to 150GWh by 2030. The factory is expected to begin partial operations by the end of this year. Northvolt expects to build at least two additional gigafactories in Europe to meet its capacity goals and is exploring the possibility of building one of them in Germany.

France’s Total inks 5-year LNG supply agreement with AMNS in India
France’s Total and ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AMNS) have signed an agreement for the supply of up to 500,000 tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year until 2026.

Total's upstream oil and gas business propels Q1 recovery
Total on April 29 reported a strong first-quarter recovery in its upstream oil and gas business, with higher prices leading to almost triple the level of adjusted operating profit in the segment compared to a year ago, but also noted continued market volatility and "very poor" refining margins.

Total says abandoning Myanmar gas field would hurt workers, cities
French oil and gas group Total said it would not stop producing gas on its Yadana fields in Myanmar as long as operations remained safe, in part to protect employees there who might otherwise risk repercussions from the military junta.
