EWEA: Offshore wind turbines increased about 2-fold in 2013

The industry body European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) said in the first half of 2013 the number of new offshore wind turbines installed increased about 2-fold compared with a year ago, however financing for new projects has slowed.

London Array officially opened and running

The world's largest offshore wind farm was officially opened by Prime Minister David Cameron on Thursday. The London Array has a total of 175 turbines with a combined capacity of 630 MW and it is capable of powering 500,000 homes per year.

UK to pay offshore wind developers triple market electricity price
