UK: Electricity prices to double in the next years to come

UK electricity prices could almost twice in the next three years because of the impact of a new tax intended at supporting renewable power production. The report showed that wholesale prices could increase in comparison to those in Germany by 85% in 2016-17 and would maintain the trend in general for the next 7- 10 years.

Germany could lose its title of global leader in the PV market

Currently the German Federal Association of Electricity and Water (BDEW)has announced that Germany has set a new record with German solar PV plants producing more than 5.1 TWh last month, representing an increase of about 19% in comparison to the 4.3 TWh registered a year before. Germany’s new solar power record was the result of sunny weather and improved solar power capacity.

China’s generation capacity to double by 2030

China is likely to more than double its generation capacity by 2030, with half of all new plants powered by renewable sources including large hydro, while coal will remain the most important fuel. China’s total power generating capacity would almost double by 2030 to 2.7 terawatts.

Daily: European power prices increased on weak supply from wind and solar

Brent crude futures extended gains to more than $111 per barrel , due to intensifying worries over a supposed chemical weapons assault in Syria added to fears of increased turmoil in the Middle East that could interrupt deliveries. Brent prices for October delivery increased 16 cents to $111.68, the highest since April 2, while U.S. crude for October delivery augmented 46 cents to $106.88 after a 1 % plunge last week

Norway: 8 new wind farms to be build in a bid to triple capacity

Norway has an excellent wind power potential. Norway has an official goal of triple its capacity to more than 2 GW and to have 67.5 % of its energy consumption from renewable sources by 2020. The potential for wind power in Norway is however much greater than this and totally there is applied for 66 TWh with wind power in Norway.
