The Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean pipeline records 30mln tons in delivery

A representative of the Chinese Petrochina company has announced that the Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline which delivers oil from Russia to China has transported about 30 million tons of crude oil since it starts operating on January 1, 2011. The pipeline is considered as a key-project in the energy cooperation between Russia and the Asian country.

UK to withdraw the ban on shale- gas exploration

Ed Davey, Energy Secretary, has announced that exploration works could now continue in the county, allowing Cuadrilla Resources Ltd. to resume operations in Lancashire, which was halted in 2011 when the test-drilling caused two minor earthquakes in northwest England.

Poland extended the deadline for shale gas exploration projects

Novatek in talks with Germany and other EU countries

Novatek OAO, Russia's largest independent gas producer is in talks to enlarge its gas trading operations in Germany and other European countries, becoming the first Russian company to face Gazprom’s export monopoly. Novatek has already signed a contract with German utility EnBW to provide with 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year from October 2012 for a 10 years period.
