Total to explore offshore gas field in Argentina
A consortium led by the French energy giant Total, with German firm Wintershall and Pan America Energy from Argentina will invest USD 1 billion (EUR 725.1m) to develop the Vega Pleyade offshore deep water natural gas field off the southern coast of Argentina.

Cyprus could become a natural gas hub by 2025
Natural gas reserves in the six gas fields licensed to Noble, Total, Kogas and ENI could total about 1.1 trillion cubic metres or 38.9 trillion cubic feet, unveils an article published in the quarterly Oxford Energy Forum, KRETYK’s Chairman Charles Ellinas.

Petroleum activities on the Norwegian continental shelf
The Norwegian oil adventure started with the discovery of Ekofisk in 1969 with the exploration activity that was concentrated on the North Sea. Ekofisk is the largest field on the Norwegian continental shelf, considered in terms of daily oil production and serves as a hub for petroleum operations in this region, with several fields utilizing the infrastructure at Ekofisk for further transport in the Norpipe system.

Daily: UK gas prices increase on field outages
Crude oil prices on both sides of the Atlantic increased on Thursday on increasing violence in Egypt which could hit the Suez Canal or spread across the Middle East. Front-month September Brent, which expired on Thursday, settled 91 cents higher at $111.11 a barrel, after earlier increasing over a dollar to $111.53, its highest level since April 2. The more actively traded October contract rose 78 cents to $109.60. Meanwhile, U.S. oil rose 48 cents to settle at $107.33.
