Carbon prices on Monday afternoon rebounded from one-month lows touched in early trading amid some supportive technical signals and despite gas prices falling to new lows.

The benchmark Dec 20 EUA contract traded last up EUR 0.32 at EUR 19.29/t, on Ice Futures. It earlier reached its lowest point since 6 April, of EUR 18.62/t.

Montel’s technical analyst Tom Hovik said a close of about EUR 18.86/t could trigger some further marginal gains this week but that the contract would likely lose ground thereafter.
