French power utility EDF declared on Thursday net income increased by 5.2 percent to 3.70 billion euros since production at its nuclear plants surpassed projections and despite a drop in electricity consumption because of mild weather.

The 84.5 percent state owned company, the world's largest operator of nuclear plants, made known that core earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) augmented by 7.3 percent to 17.28 billion euros and turnover increased by 1.3 percent to 72.87 billion euros. The company declared it anticipated 2015 EBITDA would illustrate organic evolution of zero to 3 percent and mentioned it was targeting a positive cash flow after dividends in 2018. Nuclear power output attained 415.9 terawatt/hour, a bit more than EDF's 2014 objective of between 410 and 415 TWh. Its 2015 goal is once more 410-415 TWh.
