Saft Groupe could end the construction of the largest Solar-Storage Utility by the end of this year

According to officials of the French battery maker, Saft Groupe SA Company, the construction of the largest storage system of a photovoltaic plant in Europe will be completed by the end of this year.

The company, with the headquarter in Bagnolet, near Paris, will start installing lithium-ion battery system at a solar park in Tudela, Spain, for a renewable energy company, Acciona SA (ANA) in the second half of the year. The solar project in Tudela situated in the northern part of Spain, is of big importance and will help storage energy for half an hour that will diminish fluctuations in the plant’s production and avert disconnections during bad weather. Similar projects are being developed by Xtreme Power and NGK Insulators LTD (5333) in USA and Japan respectively.

Crude oil prices rebounded on Friday, marking the first weekly rise in more than a month, after OPEC leader, Saudi Arabia, announced the willingness to have an emergency meeting to potentially cut oil supplies and solve the oil price war. Consequently, Brent crude for June delivery traded 13.9% higher at $34.11 a barrel. Similarly, WTI futures spiked by 11.9% to $28.34 a barrel.
