Solarhybrid to purchase 2.25 GW of solar capacity

Germany’s Solar Millennium AG will sell its 2 solar power projects to Solarhybrid AG planned to be built in the United States for an unknown sum. The solar parks of 2.24 GW and 1GW capacity will be based in the United States.
The deal is planned to be completed by the end of this month, while the construction of parks is planned to start in 2013. The deal follows a new acquisition of last month made by NRG Energy, which purchased a 250 MW California Valley Solar project from SunPower Corp last Monday. It is the biggest solar power plant of its kind in the country and benefits of 1.24 billion dollars guarantee from the United States Department of Energy. Following the news, Solar Millenium stock prices went up 0.35 euros or 13.81 percent to 2.84 euros in October, while Solarhybrid stocks were flat at 7 euros when Frankfurt bourse closed the trading session October 6.
