Vestas gets an order for 20 wind turbines for Germany

Vestas announced the receipt of an order to deliver and install 20 V90-2.0 MW wind turbines to UKA Group, a German renewable company, operating in Eastern Germany. The order also includes a long-term maintenance contract.

The UKA group is a relatively small electricity operator, specialized in ecofriendly energy, with 163 MW of installed capacity. The project where Vestas V90 turbines will be used has a total capacity of 40 MW. This type of turbines is appropriate for low and medium speed wind sites. Vestas is an important producer of wind generators for the European market, having delivered over 5.000 turbines on the German market by 31st December 2009.

Oil prices lost ground on Monday amid uncertainty over a trade agreement between the U.S. and China. Furthermore, worries about crude oversupply also put pressure on oil contracts. Brent crude dropped by 1.4% to $62.44 a barrel and WTI futures fell by 1.1% to $58.05 a barrel.
