Voltalia to develop new solar project in Spain

The Community of Communes Pays de Jales has chosen Voltalia for the construction of a new solar park with an installed photovoltaic capacity of 2.5 MW.

The location of the new park is in Banne municipality, Ardeche, and it is extended on 6 hectares. The solar plants will supply around 3,068 MWh per year, at an acquisition price of 323 Euro/MWh for a period of 20 years. Its turnover is estimated at 20 million Euros. Voltalia will receive the permission to build the park till the end of 2010, and the construction process will start in the third trimester of 2011. This project will strengthen Voltalia’s pipeline operating at a capacity of 478 MW in countries like Greece, France and Guyana.

Crude oil futures rallied on Monday to settle at their highest levels in more than a year amid expectations of a slow recovery in output after last week’s deep freeze in Texas which cut U.S. crude production by as much as 40%. The gains were also attributed to expectations that OPEC+ would continue to curb output. Hence, Brent crude soared by $2.33, or 3.7%, to settle at $65.24 a barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. WTI crude surged by $2.46, or 4.2%, to settle at $61.70 a barrel.
