In January, the price of gas in Bulgaria increased by 8% compared to the previous month.

Bulgaria's energy regulator announced its approval of a proposal from public supplier Bulgargaz for a wholesale natural gas price of 81.94 levs ($43.1/41.9 euro) per MWh for January, reflecting an increase of nearly 8% compared to the price in December.
According to a statement from the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) last week, the January supply will include the full amount of natural gas contracted from Azerbaijan via the Greece-Bulgaria interconnector.
Additionally, in January, Bulgaria will obtain liquefied natural gas (LNG) through two agreements with traders and gas from its Chiren underground storage facility.
In December, the wholesale price of natural gas in Bulgaria stood at 75.89 levs per MWh, up from 68.69 levs per MWh the month before. This price is exclusive of access and transmission fees, excise tax, and VAT.
