Eurowind signs a Power Purchase Agreement in Poland.

Food packaging company Faerch has entered into a new 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Eurowind Energy to provide 70,000 MWh of green electricity each year from the upcoming Novogrodek wind energy park in Poland.
This amount of green energy is equivalent to the annual electricity usage of around 17,500 Danish households, according to Eurowind.
Tom Sand-Kristensen, the group chief financial officer at Faerch, stated: "This PPA with Eurowind Energy allows Faerch to access a dependable source of renewable energy, which will help us lower our carbon footprint and aid the energy transition in Poland.
"By securing renewable energy for our operations, we are enhancing the sustainability of our Polish locations while contributing to the growth of renewable energy in the Polish grid.
"This agreement also represents another significant milestone in our Renewable Energy Strategy, which seeks to power all our facilities with additional renewable energy through PPAs."
With the new wind PPA complementing the existing Polish solar PPA, over 85% of Faerch’s electricity consumption in Poland is projected to come from renewable energy sources by 2027.
Jesper Schaumburg-Düring, commercial director at Eurowind Energy, remarked: "Faerch serves as a model for how the acquisition of green electricity can be a straightforward yet powerful approach for companies aiming for climate neutrality.
"We are committed to growing our green energy portfolio through various upcoming projects, establishing ourselves as a preferred partner for forward-thinking companies like Faerch that focus on ambitious climate goals."
The Novogrodek park is currently in the pre-construction stage. The turbines for the park have been ordered from Vestas and are anticipated to be operational by early 2027.
