Serbia's EPS will launch the Petka PV park in May.

Serbia's state-owned electricity producer Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) plans to connect the 9.75 MW Petka solar photovoltaic park to the grid in May, according to EPS director general Dusan Zivkovic. In a televised interview with public broadcaster RTS, Zivkovic stated that the installation of solar panels at the Petka site, which is EPS' first solar park built on an old mining dump, has been completed. In October, EPS initiated a tender worth 21.5 million dinars ($208,354/183,379 euros) to bring Petka online. The solar park is being developed within EPS' Kostolac thermal power plant and coal mining basin in eastern Serbia and is expected to generate 15.6 GWh of electricity annually.
