AMPYR Solar secures EUR 200 million for a solar project in Germany.

London-based solar company AMPYR Solar Europe has secured EUR 200 million (USD 227.5 million) to fund the initial Gorgast solar cluster in Brandenburg, Germany, which includes three solar farms of 15 MW each.
The financing agreement was made with Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (Nord/LB), featuring a flexible structure that enables AMPYR to quickly finance up to 250 MW of future solar and battery energy storage projects across Germany.
“This facility will enable AMPYR Solar Europe to launch the Gorgast cluster and support the development of an additional 200 MWp solar PV and battery energy storage projects in Germany soon,” stated CEO Tarun Agrawal.
The Gorgast cluster will consist of nearly 75,000 ground-mounted solar panels. The first solar farm is already operational, while the other two are under construction and expected to be completed by June 2025. Once operational, they will generate enough energy for about 12,000 households.
The solar farms will benefit from diverse revenue sources, including a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Stadtwerke Tubingen and a feed-in tariff under the Renewable Energy Act (EEG).
