ERG has begun operating an 18-MW wind farm in France.

Italian renewable energy company ERG SpA announced on Thursday that it has started operations at its 18-MW Picardie I wind farm in northern France, further establishing its presence in a key market.

Situated in the Pas-de-Calais region, the new facility features five 3.6-MW Vestas V112 turbines and is anticipated to generate 48 GWh of electricity each year, enough to power about 15,000 households. The wind farm will generate income through a 20-year contract-for-difference (CfD).

“With the launch of the high-quality Picardie I wind farm, […] we are reinforcing our presence in France, our Group’s second core market,” stated ERG CEO Paolo Merli.

The company currently has 733 MW of installed wind and solar capacity in the country.
