Polenergia is set to launch a 67 MW solar farm in Szprotawa, Poland.

Polish private utility Polenergia has applied for a permit to generate electricity from the 67 MW Szprotawa PV farm as it prepares to open its largest solar facility.

The technological commissioning of the plant has begun to verify the PV panels, inverters, transformer stations, and cable connections after voltage was applied, Polenergia stated in a press release on Wednesday.

Once it receives a license to produce electricity from the Energy Regulatory Office (URE), which could take several weeks to a few months, Polenergia’s total PV capacity will increase to 149 MW.

Situated in the eastern Lubuskie province, the facility comprises two sections—Szprotawa 1 and Szprotawa 2—covering over 76 hectares and featuring 107,000 modern bifacial modules. Construction took place from March to December 2024.

Following the launch of the Szprotawa solar farm, the combined capacity of Polenergia's 13 wind and PV assets will rise to 641 MW, and the number of its PV farms will grow to eight.
