ITM's electrolysers will supply energy to Uniper's 120-MW green hydrogen facility in the UK.

German energy company Uniper SE has chosen ITM Power Plc's electrolyser technology for its 120-MW Humber H2ub (Green) project in the UK.

ITM Power announced on Thursday that it will provide six of its 20-MW Poseidon process modules for installation at Uniper's Killingholme site, though the order's value has not been disclosed.

The Humber H2ub (Green) will start with a capacity of 120 MW, with potential expansion of an additional 200 MW. Uniper is expected to make a final investment decision (FID) in 2026, with green hydrogen production slated to begin by 2029.

Last year, Uniper entered a collaboration agreement with Phillips 66 Ltd to supply green hydrogen from this project to the Humber Refinery, replacing refinery fuel gas in industrial heaters and helping Phillips 66 reduce its scope 1 operational emissions.

In April, the UK government selected the green hydrogen project to advance to the next phase of its Second Hydrogen Allocation Round (HAR2).
