Trianel and VEW have formed a joint venture to co-develop a 63-MW wind project in Germany.

Trianel Wind and Solar GmbH & Co KG, part of the German municipal utility Trianel, and the renewables association VEW have created a joint venture to construct a 63-MW wind farm in Hesse, central Germany.
Named Windpark Rhoder Forst GmbH and Co KG, this new venture will plan, install, and operate the wind farm, aiming to enhance wind power use in the region, as stated by Trianel on Tuesday. The utility and VEW seek to leverage synergies and combined expertise through their partnership.
VEW will hold a controlling 51% stake in the new company, while Trianel Wind and Solar will maintain 49%. Trianel will manage project development, technical planning, and operations, while VEW will handle land acquisition and coordination with local service providers.
The planned wind farm will feature 10 Enercon E-175 turbines, each with a capacity of 6.3 MW, situated on land that has suffered significant storm and bark beetle damage, between the Rhoden and Wrexen districts of Diemelstadt. Once operational, it is expected to generate enough electricity to meet the annual needs of over 41,000 homes.
