Statutory consultation begins for the Dogger Bank D offshore wind project.

SSE Renewables and Equinor have initiated a statutory consultation for Dogger Bank D, the proposed fourth phase of the 3.6-GW Dogger Bank Wind Farm currently being built off the UK coast.
The 50:50 joint venture developers are encouraging community input on the plans from June 10 to August 5. This feedback will contribute to the final application for a Development Consent Order for up to 1.5 GW of offshore wind capacity at Dogger Bank D.
The consultation will detail both offshore and onshore proposals, along with the outcomes of preliminary environmental assessments. The project plans to include an offshore array of up to 113 turbines, two offshore platforms, and cabling to a landfall point near Skipsea in East Riding of Yorkshire. Onshore, there will be underground cables leading to a converter station close to a new onshore substation being developed by National Grid Electricity Transmission near Cottingham.
Additionally, the plans may incorporate energy storage and balancing infrastructure at the proposed site of the onshore converter station.
