Alight launches a solar park in Sweden contracted by H&M.

Swedish solar developer Alight announced the launch of a 6-MWp solar park in Katrineholm, Sweden, which will provide green electricity to H&M Group. This photovoltaic farm is the third project from a partnership between Alight and H&M initiated last year, with all three plants generating electricity for H&M's outlets in Sweden.

The Katrineholm site, featuring 11,000 panels, is projected to produce around 6 GWh annually, enough to power approximately 1,200 homes. In March, a 13-MWp solar park in Blekinge began supplying power to H&M, followed by a 4-MWp facility in Halland. The Katrineholm project is the last to go online under a 23-MW power purchase agreement.

Johan Hernstrom from Alight expressed pride in supporting H&M's climate goals and enhancing the electricity grid's resilience in the high-demand SE3 area. H&M Group aims to use only renewable electricity by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2040, with a PPA for a 100-MW solar park in Hultsfred, Sweden, set to begin operation later this year.
