Econergy makes its move in Germany by acquiring a 100-MW battery energy storage system.

Israeli independent power producer Econergy Renewable Energy Ltd (TLV:ECNR) has acquired a portfolio of battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Germany, totaling 100 MW/200 MWh, marking its market entry. The portfolio includes two projects expected to begin construction by year-end. Econergy plans to invest EUR 73 million (USD 84.1 million) for the acquisition, anticipating annual revenues of about EUR 13.7 million and average EBITDA of EUR 11.9 million over the first five years of operation.
The projects will be located in Brandenburg and are set to be operational by the first quarter of 2027. This acquisition aligns with Econergy’s strategy to become an independent power producer (IPP). CEO Eyal Podhorzer noted that the company has been assessing the German market and aims to establish a robust local presence while exploring further investment opportunities. Econergy also has a project pipeline of approximately 14 GW, with 4 GW dedicated to energy storage projects.
