Polestar Electric Cars Introduce in France

Swedish electric performance car brand Polestar has officially launched in France, making its complete range of electric vehicles available for order. This move establishes France as the company's 28th market globally, marking a significant milestone in its growth across Europe and enhancing its presence on four continents.

Market Entry and Strategy

Polestar is adopting a dual sales approach in France. Customers can order vehicles directly from the company's website, showcasing a modern direct-to-consumer model. This will be supported by plans to open several retail locations, called Polestar Spaces, in collaboration with select Volvo Cars retail partners.

The first French location will debut in the famous racing village of Le Mans in July, with plans to expand into up to ten additional key cities in the latter half of 2024. According to Stephane Le Guevel, Managing Director of Polestar France, the company aims to establish up to ten sales points by 2025, with further growth anticipated in 2026. This initiative is backed from the beginning by a nationwide service network comprising over 100 locations.

Leadership and Future Outlook

Polestar’s leadership is optimistic about the brand’s prospects in France. CEO Michael Lohscheller expressed excitement about offering their performance EV portfolio in one of Europe’s fastest-growing EV markets and noted the favorable reaction from French media.

The brand emphasizes performance, design, and sustainability, aligning well with French consumer preferences. Looking ahead, Polestar intends to launch new models, including the Polestar 5 four-door GT in 2025 and the Polestar 6 roadster. The company is dedicated to sustainability, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions per vehicle by 2030 and achieve climate neutrality throughout its value chain by 2040, guiding its global operations and future production in Europe.
