ib vogt inaugurates the 513-MWp Segovia solar farm cluster in Spain.

German solar and energy storage developer ib vogt GmbH has launched a 513.1-MWp solar farm cluster in Segovia, Spain, marking its largest project portfolio to date.
The Segovia Cluster comprises four large-scale photovoltaic plants: 174-MWp Serbal, 134-MWp Castaño, 110-MWp Pato, and 95.1-MWp Baobab, all supported by long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with major companies such as Thermo Fisher Scientific, Corning, Apple, and Equinix.
Covering 666.5 hectares (1,647 acres) and featuring over 887,000 solar panels, the plants are projected to produce approximately 1,036.6 GWh of electricity each year, sufficient to power 300,000 homes and reduce CO₂ emissions by over 480,000 tonnes annually.
ib vogt noted that the project has already contributed around EUR 6 million (USD 6.94 million) in tax revenues and is expected to generate about EUR 1.3 million per year for local municipalities throughout its 25-year operational period. During the construction phase, over 19 companies were involved, and EUR 1.3 million was invested in environmental protection initiatives.
At the inauguration event, ib vogt’s CEO Andreas Schell described the energy transition as “an ethical imperative” and called for increased support for system services and battery deployment.
