The Ingerslev Å solar facility in Denmark has started generating energy.

BeGreen and its parent company Equinor have begun operations at the 65MW Ingerslev Å solar plant in Jutland, Denmark. This marks BeGreen’s first production project since Equinor's acquisition earlier in 2023. The 68-hectare facility is equipped with over 100,000 solar panels and has six transformer stations to facilitate its operation. The Ingerslev Å solar park is projected to generate around 68 gigawatt hours (GWh) annually.

Anders Bade, senior vice-president of Equinor Renewables onshore and markets, stated that this initiative is part of their goal to build a profitable onshore renewables business in targeted European and American markets, with about 1.2GW of onshore capacity currently in production and development.

Danske Commodities, an international tech-driven energy trading company, will market the electricity produced by the new plant in the DK1 power market of western Denmark. Bade noted that owning local companies allows for significant value creation through their expertise and the synergies with Danske Commodities.

Additionally, all four of Equinor's subsidiaries focused on onshore renewables and battery storage are now operational. In another update, Equinor and Gwynt Glas have secured seabed leases from the UK Crown Estate to develop two floating wind farms in the Celtic Sea, each with a capacity of 1500MW.
