ORLEN and Naftogaz have signed a new agreement for gas supply.

In the coming months, ORLEN will provide 140 million m³ of natural gas to Ukraine's Naftogaz under a new contract. The gas, sourced from the US, will be regasified at the LNG terminal in Swinoujscie before being delivered to Ukraine. This contract ensures a steady gas supply to the Ukrainian market in the upcoming months and is vital for enhancing the country’s energy security as winter approaches.

This contract is the fourth gas supply agreement between ORLEN and Naftogaz in 2025, with the previous three totaling around 300 million m³. In all instances, the gas was regasified LNG imported by ORLEN from the US through the Swinoujscie or Klaipeda terminals in Lithuania.

“Due to our ongoing trading expertise, dedicated fleet of LNG transport vessels, and reserved regasification capacities, we are well-equipped to help Ukraine diversify its gas sources and supply routes. The summer period is critical for replenishing storage, making these deliveries even more important. Our efforts align with the EU's REPowerEU goals and even exceed them. ORLEN halted all Russian gas imports over three years ago and is now able to assist neighboring countries like Slovakia and Ukraine in achieving energy independence from Russia. The fourth contract with our Ukrainian partner this year underscores this commitment. We are pleased that Naftogaz values our competitive offering. This agreement strengthens our cooperation, benefiting both parties and enhancing regional energy security,” stated Robert Soszynski, Vice President of the ORLEN Management Board, Chief Operating Officer.

This latest contract stems from a commercial cooperation framework established between Naftogaz and ORLEN in March 2025 for LNG natural gas.

“Naftogaz is diversifying its gas supply sources and routes, which bolsters Ukraine’s energy security amidst the ongoing war with Russia. We appreciate our Polish partners and value this cooperation. Securing an additional contract for US LNG is crucial for our preparations for the winter heating season and a significant step towards ensuring a reliable gas supply for Ukrainians,” remarked Sergii Koretskyi, CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
