R Power is set to construct a solar farm in Romania.

Polish renewable energy firm R Power has revealed its intention to create a photovoltaic solar farm in north-west Romania.
The Lazuri solar park, with a capacity of 55MWp, will be situated in Satu Mare County.
The project will connect to the national grid through a newly built 110kV loop-in/loop-out switching station tied to the existing Vetiș-Abator overhead line.
Construction is set to commence in the third quarter of 2025, with activation anticipated in Q3 2026. The project secured a 15-year power contract after winning Romania’s renewables auction last year.
R Power's vice president, Katarzyna Suchcicka, stated: “This project not only supports Romania’s ambitious renewable energy goals but also represents a crucial step in enhancing our presence in vital Eastern European markets.
“Our 55MWp solar farm will produce around 70GWh of clean energy annually—sufficient to supply over 48,000 homes and prevent nearly 17,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.”
Lazuri is among four R Power projects in Romania that were awarded 15-year Contracts for Difference (CfD) in the local auction, totaling 85MWp.
Previously, the company obtained €12.4 million in project financing from BGK for 23MWp of PV and €15 million in non-reimbursable grants from Romania’s Ministry of Energy for its first energy storage facility.
