Iberdrola sets a new record by distributing more than 124,000 GWh of electricity.

Iberdrola has achieved a new record in distributed electricity, reaching 124,201 GWh in the first half of 2025, which is a 4.8% increase from the same period last year. This growth was driven by rising demand in Spain and the UK, especially from the integration of Electricity North West (ENW). In the UK, distributed energy rose over 30%, exceeding 20,000 GWh, while Spain experienced a 2.5% increase to 44,871 GWh.
The company's own generation also grew by 2.3%, reaching 66,300 GWh, fueled by expanded capacity and strong offshore wind performance, with a notable 42% increase in offshore wind production in the second quarter. Iberdrola has now surpassed 45,000 MW of renewable capacity globally, accounting for 79% of its total generation. By region, Iberdrola Energía Internacional led with a 15.7% growth, aided by a 68% rise in offshore wind output in France and Germany.
Brazil followed with an 11.7% increase due to enhanced hydroelectric generation, while Spain’s generation rose by 6.4%, supported by improvements in solar, nuclear, and combined cycle technologies. The company now produces 91% of its electricity in Spain without emissions and 100% of its output in the UK, US, Brazil, Australia, and several European countries.
