HyCC secures funding for a 90-MW electrolysis project in the Netherlands.

Hydrogen company HyCC has received a grant from the Dutch government to aid in the development of a 90 MW electrolysis project in Delfzijl, a port town in northern Netherlands. The H2eron project will facilitate the production of fully renewable hydrogen using water and electricity. This green hydrogen will assist in decarbonizing local industries and other industrial clusters in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.

HyCC’s CEO, Marcel Galjee, emphasized that the subsidy is crucial for the project's development, though he did not specify the amount. The company is moving forward with plans for a final investment decision (FID). HyCC is a joint venture between the Dutch chemical company Nobian and Macquarie's Green Investment Group and has recently revealed intentions to construct a large-scale electrolyser in Rotterdam, aimed at producing approximately 25,000 tonnes of green hydrogen each year.
