Boom Power obtains approval for a 30-MW solar facility in England.

British solar developer Boom Power has received planning approval for a 29.7-MW solar park in West Yorkshire, England, which aims to provide renewable energy for over 11,700 homes. The Wakefield Planning Committee issued the permit for the Woolley Solar Farm, located near the village of Woolley in Wakefield, covering approximately 55.3 hectares (136.6 acres). The site consists of two land parcels connected by an underground cable to the Grid at Woolley Grange. The power plant is projected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 7,300 tonnes annually, according to Boom Power.

The project includes ecological and landscaping initiatives, such as planting hedgerows and wildflower meadows and creating new wildlife habitats. The solar park is anticipated to operate for 40 years. Last month, Boom Power also received planning approval for a 22.2-MW solar park in West Yorkshire after successfully appealing against an initial refusal by the Wakefield Metropolitan District Council.
