Germany allocates 2.3GW in a solar power tender.

The German federal network agency has allocated 2271MW of capacity in its recent tender for ground-mounted and specific non-building solar projects.
The auction held on 1 July 2025 was oversubscribed, receiving 313 bids totaling 2.82GW for the 2.266GW available. The regulator confirmed that 258 bids were successful, while 36 were excluded.
Award prices ranged from €0.04/kWh to €0.0626/kWh, with an average volume-weighted price of €0.0484/kWh, a slight increase from €0.0466/kWh in the last round. Bavaria secured the largest portion with 689MW across 106 projects, followed by Rhineland-Palatinate at 251MW and Lower Saxony at 250MW.
Klaus Müller, president of the federal network agency, noted that competition is keeping award prices significantly below the maximum level, fostering reliable conditions for bidders.
The next auction for this sector is scheduled for 1 December 2025.
