Corinth Pipeworks launches the largest industrial rooftop solar PV system in Greece.

Corinth Pipeworks, a steel pipe manufacturer, has launched a 7.1 MW photovoltaic facility at its plant in the Thisvi Industrial Area, marking it as the largest industrial rooftop PV system in Greece. This facility is expected to fulfill around 25% of the factory's electricity requirements, producing approximately 10 GWh annually. The project, implemented under an ESCO scheme, was fully designed and executed by Survey Digital Photovoltaics and financed by Sirec Energy and Survey Digital Photovoltaics in partnership with Piraeus Bank.
Under a 10-year lease, the system will be transferred to Corinth Pipeworks at no cost and is intended for self-consumption without feeding power into the high-voltage grid. The facility covers nearly six hectares across two factories and includes 12,000 solar panels. The company, now exceeding its 2025 goal of achieving 80% renewable energy usage, has also secured a power purchase agreement for a wind farm. Vice President of Sirec Energy, Vangelis Bardis, emphasized the importance of collaborating with an organization that has the necessary technical and financial capabilities. Corinth Pipeworks is part of Cenergy Holdings, which also owns Hellenic Cables, a manufacturer of power and telecommunications cables.
