Fortis Energy receives a construction permit for a solar-storage facility in Serbia.

Turkish renewable energy company Fortis Energy has received authorization to build a 270-MWp solar park combined with a 72-MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Serbia. The Sremska Mitrovica administration granted the construction approval, and a grid-connection permit for 180 MW of capacity is already secured. The solar park will be located south of the Sava River, near Drenovac, with construction expected to start in the second quarter of 2026. Once operational, it will rank among the largest solar-storage hybrid parks in Southeast Europe.
Fortis Energy is developing over 2.5 GW of renewable energy projects, including the 194.4-MW Gornjak Wind Power Project in Serbia, which is anticipated to be shovel-ready by the first quarter of 2027. Additionally, plans are underway for a 110-MWp solar farm with BESS in Sid, a municipality in northern Serbia.
Fortis Energy operates in the Balkans, the Netherlands, Spain, and Turkey, aiming to increase its installed capacity to 1.2 GW by 2027.
