Illwerke is looking to acquire wind parks in Germany.

Austrian energy firm Illwerke vkw AG intends to acquire wind farms in Germany and construct a 400 MWh battery storage facility in Austria to provide renewable energy to all its customers.
Illwerke has projected that it will require an extra energy capacity of approximately 1,000 GWh by 2040 to meet the renewable energy needs of its customers in the Vorarlberg province of Austria and the Western Allgaeu region of Germany from its own production.
The planned storage facility will be situated in Vorarlberg and aims to ensure the necessary flexibility, according to the company. Project details are currently under review.
Illwerke also announced that its CEO, Christof Germann, plans to resign in the latter half of 2026. A decision regarding his successor is anticipated in early 2026, although the exact date for the appointment is yet to be confirmed.
