Enery and Energie Steiermark inaugurated a 21-MWp agricultural photovoltaic plant in Austria.
Austrian energy firm Energie Steiermark and its partner Enery Development from Vienna have launched an agrivoltaic power plant with a capacity of 20.94 MWp in Dobl-Zwaring, located in the southeastern region of Austria.

The solar facility comprises 29,448 modules and is projected to produce approximately 26.3 GWh of electricity each year. This output can power around 5,450 homes, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 2,100 tonnes annually.

The solar array spans 20 hectares in Styria province, with 16 hectares designated for sheep grazing.

Energie Steiermark and Enery have allocated about EUR 13 million (USD 15.28 million) for the project.

The announcement also included plans for a battery storage system installation.

Energie Steiermark aims to invest around EUR 5.5 billion to enhance renewable energy and the electricity grid in the coming years, with photovoltaics being a central focus. The company plans to install 300 MW of solar capacity, intended to serve over 100,000 households.
