PGE's Baltica 1 Offshore Wind Project is prepared for the Polish auction in 2025.

PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna (PGE) has received environmental approval for its 900 MW Baltica 1 offshore wind project, allowing it to participate in Poland’s offshore wind auction on December 17, 2025. The approval was granted by the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Gdańsk. Dariusz Marzec, President of PGE's Management Board, stated that this signals growing offshore wind energy development in Poland and emphasizes the opportunity for local companies to engage in the process.

Baltica 1 aims to involve Polish suppliers in building a robust value chain. PGE Baltica conducted extensive environmental studies before obtaining the permit, with the research carried out by a consortium of Polish contractors, Gdynia Maritime University, and MEWO. Baltica 1, one of three ongoing projects by PGE Group in the Polish Baltic Sea, is located about 80 kilometers from the coast near Łeba in the Pomeranian voivodeship. The project already has a location permit and connection agreement, and is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2032, pending a Contract for Difference (CfD) from this year’s auction.
