Romania's Premier Energy acquires a 400 MWh BESS project that is ready for construction.

Romanian energy and power infrastructure firm Premier Energy announced it has fully acquired a 200 MW/400 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) project ready for construction near Iasi.
The estimated cost for developing and building the BESS is around 75 million euros ($86.5 million), with construction set for 2026 and commissioning anticipated in late 2026 or early 2027, according to a statement submitted to the Bucharest Stock Exchange on Thursday. The company’s management is currently seeking financing for the project from a major CEE financial institution. In May 2024, Premier Energy went public on the main regulated market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
