Q ENERGY energizes the Cahuzac solar park.

Q ENERGY has launched its 8500KW solar park in Cahuzac-sur-Adour, situated in the Occitanie region of France.
According to Q ENERGY, the site was previously a quarry classified as an ICPE, utilized for grinding, crushing, and screening activities from 1993 to 2019.
The company reported that the 14,500 solar panels spread over 7.5 hectares now provide renewable energy for nearly 5,000 residents and help prevent approximately 2,600 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.
Q ENERGY noted that the Cahuzac project marks its first venture in the Gers department and complements its portfolio of 12 solar parks and 14 wind farms in Occitanie.
Maud Gaide, solar director at Q ENERGY, remarked that the project was executed commendably by their teams, and collaboration with local officials facilitated the creation of a solar farm that fits well into the area, bringing economic advantages that will assist local authorities in undertaking projects and investments.
The company stated that the project incorporates ecological initiatives such as wildlife-friendly fencing, amphibian barriers, hedge planting, and hibernacula for reptiles, amphibians, and insects.
Véronique Sauzay, regional solar manager at Q ENERGY, emphasized that the entire project team was dedicated to developing a project aligned with environmental protection principles, ensuring that their renewable energy initiatives respect and enhance the natural features of the sites where they are established.
