EV drivers provide 11,000 flexible dispatches.

Electric Miles has achieved a significant milestone, having completed over 11,000 half-hourly flexibility dispatches across distribution networks in the UK.
The company collaborated with SP Energy Networks, UK Power Networks, National Grid Electricity Distribution, and Northern Powergrid by utilizing its SmartFlex platform.
In just the last month, Electric Miles conducted more than 1,000 automated demand-side response events during peak demand in winter.
These events contributed to alleviating local constraints through rapid reductions in load from residential EV chargers.
George Fournarakis from SP Energy Networks emphasized that flexibility is crucial for maintaining a resilient network during winter peak times. He remarked that Electric Miles has demonstrated leadership by enabling widespread participation from drivers.
Alex Howard of UK Power Networks pointed out that EV charging is increasingly becoming a valuable source of flexibility that benefits both the networks and consumers.
He mentioned that facilitating participation for individuals in supporting the grid helps lower the overall costs of the energy system.
Doerte Schneemann from National Grid highlighted that residential EV flexibility is becoming essential for preparing the system for a decarbonized future.
Duncan Oliphant of Northern Powergrid stated that EV smart charging is emerging as a significant source of support for the distribution network. He underscored the company's capacity to provide consistent automated responses while delivering value to customers.
Electric Miles is launching a reward program that will provide a £30 voucher to up to 50 EV drivers who participate in flexibility events.
CEO Arun Anand noted that this milestone signifies the advancement of SmartFlex and the confidence distributed system operators have in the platform.
