QatarEnergy and EGAS have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

QatarEnergy has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt to enhance collaboration in the energy sector, particularly focusing on the supply of LNG from QatarEnergy to Egypt.

The agreement was signed in a special ceremony at QatarEnergy’s headquarters in Doha by Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President and CEO of QatarEnergy, and Karim Badawi, the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.

Minister Al-Kaabi expressed satisfaction in furthering cooperation with Egypt, stating that this agreement builds upon their recent successful collaboration regarding LNG supply from QatarEnergy’s portfolio.

He further noted that this MoU strengthens their bilateral relationship as they work together to supply long-term LNG from QatarEnergy to accommodate Egypt's increasing energy needs to support its economic and industrial growth. He emphasized the desire to collaborate with the Egyptian Ministry and partners to bolster cooperation and assist Egypt with future LNG demands.

The MoU facilitates ongoing cooperation in the energy sector, including the long-term delivery of LNG from QatarEnergy to Egypt. QatarEnergy and the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) have agreed on the supply of up to 24 LNG cargoes for the summer of 2026.

Additionally, QatarEnergy and EGAS have agreed to initiate talks regarding further long-term LNG supplies from QatarEnergy to Egypt.
