Kia reveals new EV2 at the Brussels Motor Show.

Kia Corporation has launched its new EV2 battery-powered compact SUV at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, aiming to grow its footprint in the rapidly evolving global electric vehicle market.
The EV2 marks Kia’s sixth dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV) and showcases the brand’s unique design. It offers two battery sizes, 42.2 kWh and 61.0 kWh, which deliver driving ranges of 317 km and 448 km, respectively. Models with standard range can charge from 10% to 80% in 29 minutes using a fast-charging system, while long-range models require about 30 minutes for the same charge.
Kia stated that the EV2 incorporates “upper-segment” technologies such as Front Collision Avoidance Assist 2.0, Hands-on Detection, Lane Keeping Assist 2, Highway Driving Assist 2, and Remote Smart Parking Assist. Its interior boasts a panoramic wide display along with a built-in 12.3-inch infotainment screen.
During the event, Kia also introduced performance versions of current models, such as the EV3 GT, EV4 Hatchback GT, and EV5 GT.
The company confirmed that production of the standard-range EV2 will commence in Žilina, Slovakia, in the first quarter of 2026, followed by the release of long-range and GT variants later in the year. The EV3 GT, EV4 Hatchback GT, and EV5 GT are set to begin production in South Korea in the latter half of 2026.
Kia’s president and CEO, Ho Sung Song, remarked: “With the Kia EV2, we are broadening the reach of Kia’s electric mobility to those seeking a compact vehicle that remains spacious, capable, and emotionally fulfilling. The EV2 demonstrates our dedication to practical innovation by integrating advanced EV technology, thoughtful design, and everyday functionality into a model tailored for urban living.”
