German energy solutions firm GP JOULE GmbH has launched a 49-MW community solar park in Schleswig-Holstein, the northernmost state of Germany.
Located in the North Frisian municipality of Bosbull, the photovoltaic (PV) park is anticipated to produce approximately 50 million kWh of electricity each year, according to GP JOULE. The company also aims to incorporate a battery energy storage system (BESS) to retain excess electricity for use in other areas.
The solar panels span a 45-acre (18.2-hectare) site within an established wind farm. Their energy output is guaranteed for the next five years through a direct power purchase agreement (PPA).
This solar park marks GP JOULE’s third community project in Bosbull. Construction was completed in under a year, following a five-year development phase. A building permit was granted in early 2024. GP JOULE SERVICE will be in charge of the technical and commercial management of the PV park.
In late 2025, GP JOULE initiated operations of a nearly 73-MW solar park in Brandenburg for its client PARQ energy GmbH.
