Nissan introduces the completely new NX8 model in China.
Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFN), Nissan Motor Company's primary joint venture in China, has introduced the new NX8 mid-size electrified SUV to the Chinese market, just ahead of the Auto China 2026 exhibition set to begin on April 24.

The NX8 is the third Nissan vehicle designed specifically for the Chinese market, following the recent releases of the N6 plug-in hybrid sedan and the N7 mid-size battery-electric sedan. The manufacturer stated that the NX8 was created with the vision of being "the ideal SUV for every family," emphasizing high comfort, advanced technology, and safety features, along with a comprehensive suite of convenience, comfort, and safety options standard across all models.

The NX8 is available with two 800V powertrain configurations: a battery electric vehicle (BEV) system and a range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) system. The BEV model, which is already available for purchase, features three versions: the 580 Pro, 580 Max, and 650 Max, the last of which offers a top driving range of 650 km. The vehicle supports ultra-fast 5C charging, enabling the CATL batteries to regain around 300 km of driving range in just six minutes, according to the company.

The REEV variant, set to launch in May, will also have three versions: the 150 Pro, 150 Max, and 310 Max. The 310 Max allows for 310 km of BEV-only driving and a total combined range of up to 1,450 km. Its fuel consumption in gasoline mode is slightly above 4.5 liters per 100 km.

Inside, the vehicle features dual 15.6-inch displays, the Nissan OS 2.0 operating system with an AI voice assistant, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chipset with 256 GB of storage, and an augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD).
