Enviromena receives approval for a 16-MW solar project in England.
UK independent power producer Enviromena announced on Thursday that it has received approval for its 16-MW Lutterworth Solar Farm project in England.

The Rugby Borough Council granted the permit, noting that the proposed facility will aid in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, decreasing reliance on imported fossil fuels, and improving the resilience of both the local and national energy systems.

Situated in Warwickshire, the photovoltaic (PV) farm is projected to generate enough electricity to power approximately 7,800 homes annually, mitigating over 4,300 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. It is expected to operate for up to 40 years.

The project aims to enhance biodiversity through the restoration and improvement of the ecosystem. Plans include the preservation of existing trees and hedgerows, along with the planting of additional native species to support local wildlife.

Lutterworth is the second project by Enviromena to get approval in 2026, following the 16-MWac St Mary in the Marsh project in Kent. The developer, with over 3 GW of projects in development and construction in England, anticipates that seven schemes totaling more than 200 MW will undergo planning examination during the summer.
