Budapest-listed Premier Energy has reached an agreement to purchase Evryo Group's power distribution network from Australia's Macquarie for approximately 700 million euros ($824.39 million), the companies announced on Friday.
The European energy provider will take over Distributie Energie Oltenia, a regulated electricity distribution network operating in the south-western Romanian area of Oltenia, from Macquarie's asset management division.
Premier Energy mentioned that it is exploring the possibility of a bond offering to finance all or part of the acquisition, which aims to fill the current electricity distribution gap in the company's main market, Romania. The deal is anticipated to close financially in the latter half of 2026, according to separate statements from the companies.
