Green Flexibility has commissioned a 40-MW energy storage system in Bavaria.
Energy storage developer Green Flexibility has launched a 40-MW/80-MWh battery energy storage system in Bavaria, Germany, having invested approximately EUR 35 million (USD 41.1 million) in the project.

Situated in Balzhausen, this facility is the first at the so-called "feed-in socket" of the grid managed by LEW Verteilnetz GmbH. The project is designed to assess the integration of solar, wind, and storage facilities with a collective generation capacity of 126 MW into a transformer capable of handling up to 80 MW of electricity at any time, as previously stated by LEW.

Green Flexibility began construction of the storage facility in September 2025. The company plans to deploy at least five additional battery systems in 2026, further enhancing the flexible, grid-supporting storage infrastructure throughout Germany.
